Drill Down Hierarchy on a Bar Graph
Now that we’ve added our navigation hierarchy to the bar graph, let’s learn how to drill up and down.
In order to drill down on data, you have to toggle drill down on. Click on the drill down icon to toggle drill down.
It will change color to solid grey when enabled.
Now when you click on one of the bars, you’ll drill down to the State Provinces for the Sales Territory that you clicked on.Drill Up
Click on the up arrow to drill back up one level of the hierarchy.
Go to the next level in the hierarchy
Click on the double arrows to drill down through all categories on the next level of the X-Axis. If you click on the double arrows while on the top level of the hierarchy, it will show you all items at the next level down, e.g., all State Provinces.
Expand all down one level in the hierarchy
This will show you a concatenation of the levels that you’ve drilled down through. For example, if you’re on the top level of the hierarchy, it will show you Sales Territory concatenated with State Province. This is particularly useful for date hierarchies.
