Slicer Visual
The slicer visual intuitively allows users to set filters on data that apply to everything on the page (by default).
We are now going to create a slicer visual. Click on the slicer (in the red border) in the VISUALIZATIONS pane (Ensure you click on a blank space in the report page first):
In the FIELDS pane select the table Date then the column Date.
The default visual will look like this:
Change the slicer to the Relative slicer(in red box):
There are options for relative dates that look similar, but behave differently, like Years and Years (Calendar)
Years displays the last year, between current date to the same date last year. I.e., If the date was 06/11/2019 you would see:
Years (Calendar) filters last calendar year from 1st Jan to Dec 31st for the previous Calendar year.
Change the style back to a slider by selecting Between.
