Start by creating a new report page and call it Lab1.
Add a card visual with the measure Total Including Tax
Right Click on the tab Lab1 and select Duplicate Page. This will create a new page called Duplicate of Lab 1
Now add a slicer visual to the new report page. You’ve done this before. Click on a blank area in the report page canvas and then select the Slicer visual for the VISUALIZATIONS pane
Expand the Customers table in the field well and click on CustomerCategoryName to add this to the slicer
Re-size the slicer and click on Corporate in the slicer to filter all of the visuals on the report page.
Click on the slicer you just created then hold and CTRL + C to copy the visual to the clipboard. Now click on the Lab1 report page tab and CTRL + V to copy the slicer to that report page
You will get a message to confirm that you want the slicers to Sync across the two report pages. By using Sync, whenever you change the slicer selections on one page they will also apply to the other synced page.
Change the slicer value and jump back to the Duplicate of Lab 1 page to see the impact. Hint it should show the same selection
Now let’s say we only want the slicer be visilbe on one page, but still have it filter the visuals on the other page. With the CustomerCategoryName slicer selected on the Lab1 page, click on View on the menu bar
To control slicer syncronisation, there are two options for each slicer on each page. The first column of check boxes indicates which pages the selected slicer is synced across
The second column with the eye icon indicates if the slicer is to be hidden on that page.
When you copy a report page, all of the slicers on that page are copied and synced by default.
If you sync a slicer to a report page that does not already include a slicer for that dimension, a hidden slicer will be created for you.
